We love a good diaper bag at Momtrends, and this gorgeous piece of arm-candy from Rebecca Minkoff and The Honest Company most definitely takes the cake. It’s got everything we need: style, color, lots of room, and, of course, loads of practical pocket for bottles, diapers, and all the daily essentials. And the fact that two of our favorite companies collaborated to create this beautiful bag? Well, that’s the icing on the (designer!) cake. (Clearly, this mama has dessert on the mind!)
The Rebecca Minkoff x The Honest Company diaper bag was sourced in and inspired by the Guatemalan city of Solola in collaboration with FINCA. The fabric was woven in the Mayan tradition, on foot loom, by a cooperative of a dozen women artists, who depend on this handiwork for their livelihood. And, yes, with every purchase Rebecca Minkoff and The Honest Company will provide sustainable support to these female entrepreneurs in Guatemala, further fueling their textile businesses. (The sprinkles on the icing on our proverbial cake!)
I was so drawn to the beautiful Mayan print of this diaper bag, that I decided to style coordinating mommy and me outfits.
While my first instinct was to dress us both in bright and happy hues, I decided to go a more subtle route. (I didn’t want to overshadow the already very vibrant bag with too many conflicting colors.) So I went with this black embroidered crepe surplice jumpsuit from Forever 21 instead. Tribal-inspired embroidery along the neckline gives the otherwise ordinary outfit an especially festive flair. Great with flip-flops, espadrilles, or heels, it’s a versatile and absolutely effortless piece. (Also, the crepe material is so light and breezy.)
I rarely dress Baby P in black, but, when I found this bubble romper at Old Navy, I had instant matching mommy-and-me visions. (TWINSIES!) Much like my jumper, it’s accented by white abstract embroidery, reminiscent of traditional Mayan patterns.
We look chic and all in our Mayan-esque ensembles (if I do say so myself), but the real star of the show, and the one item that pulls everything together is most definitely the phenomenal Rebecca Minkoff x The Honest Company diaper bag… You might even say it’s the cherry on top!
